Mélanie Bovy

Mélanie Bovy is a young high-level athlete, specialized in middle and long-distance running (3000m-10,000m and cross-country), and she is the Belgian U23 Cross Country Champion.

The MAD Foundation supports her through financial assistance that enables her to acquire sports equipment and to participate in training camps.

Home Philippe Speth

Home Philippe Speth’s mission is to provide long-term accommodation and social and medical support to young adults aged 12 to 18. Most of these young people have grown up in challenging environments and, as a result of physical or psychological abuse, have been placed in this care center to recover and develop a professional plan through personalized guidance.

The MAD Foundation supports Home Philippe Speth by financing leisure activities outside the home for each of the 29 young adults in their care. Each young person has an annual budget of €150 to €200 and must justify their expenses based on the activity they choose, thereby enhancing their sense of responsibility and autonomy.

Synergie 14

Synergie 14‘s mission is to provide accommodation and socio-educational activities for unaccompanied foreign minors (UFMs). In its two reception centres located in Brussels, the association offers these minors medical and psychological support, extra-curricular workshops (cultural, recreational and sporting) as well as a follow-up to the development of the young person’s professional project.

The MAD Foundation supports Synergie 14 by funding a part-time educator responsible for organising extra-curricular activities to foster the self-development of these young people, particularly through gardening and horticulture.

Schola ULB

Since 1989, the Schola ULB Tutorat programme has offered free tutoring to young students from underprivileged backgrounds in Brussels. This academic accompaniment is provided by a student tutor and is aimed at developing the pupils’ potential and stimulating their ambitions for the future.

The MAD foundation has supported Schola ULB in the following two areas: offering support to young people during the school holidays and setting up a tutoring programme in alternative locations in collaboration with local community centres.

L’Accueil

L’Accueil is a care institution for children aged between 0 to 6 accomplished. Parents remain in contact with their children through daily visits and participation in the children’s daily lives.

The MAD Foundation supports the Accueil Multifamilial de Jour programme, which aims to assess and improve families’ educational and parenting skills, as well as their children’s well-being. They are housed in apartments equipped with a video recording system, which is a precious tool for fine-tuning the quality of interactions.

Le Petit Vélo Jaune

Le Petit Vélo Jaune offers support to single parents or families in fragile or precarious situations.

Each year, the association supports 100 families. It provides them with free, consistent, and long-term support within the family environment. This support, which is given in a simple and caring manner, is carried out by “teammate” volunteers, carefully selected and supervised by the association.

Based in Brussels, Le Petit Vélo Jaune was awarded the federal prize for the fight against poverty in 2020.

The MAD Foundation supports more particularly the “pregnant mothers” project, where a volunteer supports the parents before the birth, starting in the last trimester of pregnancy. Each support lasts one year, with one meeting per week on average.

Les Rênes de la Vie

Active for 40 years, Les Rênes de la Vie integrates a therapeutic and social approach to relationships between the child with disabilities, the pony, and nature. The association supports deaf, blind, paraplegic, Down’s syndrome, and autistic children as well as those suffering from muscular dystrophy, psychotic disorders, and dyslexia. It is one of the only pony-clubs to promote inclusion and integration.

The MAD Foundation finances a solidarity fund that supports families who are unable to pay for riding sessions or training courses for their children. In doing so, it contributes to making equine-assisted therapy accessible to a greater number of people.

Sans Collier

Sans Collier, based in Perwez, manages a shelter for found, mistreated or abandoned dogs and cats. It also offers initiatives and actions to raise awareness about animal welfare. The shelter permanently houses and cares for about 300 dogs and cats. Each year, nearly 2,000 animals are rescued and more than a dozen campaigns and awareness-raising actions are carried out to the public.

The MAD Foundation is financing a new animal welfare program with the hiring of additional personnel.

The Pulse Foundation

The Pulse Foundation promotes the entrepreneurial culture in Belgium from an early age and helps entrepreneurs at every stage of their adventure. The Foundation aspires to further develop entrepreneurship so that it can meet the societal challenges of our time and enable individuals to achieve their ambitions.

The MAD Foundation structurally supports the Pulse Foundation with a specific focus on the Revival Project. The Revival Project gives entrepreneurs support after a professional setback and encourages a change in the way we look at entrepreneurial failure, still a taboo subject in our culture.

La Petite Ecole

La Petite École welcomes about ten students from complex migratory backgrounds and helps them get acclimated to school. This flexible yet structured program gently encourages children to be receptive to learning and to start their own school project. It therefore acts as a space of transition into long-term education for children with refugee backgrounds, who have little to no experience in school. La Petite École is entirely free.

The MAD Foundation supports the Brussels-based association in the provision of materials and with its operating costs.
